It has already been announced that the Vinayagar Chaturthi holiday will be on the 18th instead of the 17th Vinayagar Chaturthi holiday announced by the Tamil Nadu government. Following this, 18th has been declared as a holiday for all ration shops on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi.
In this regard, the circular sent by the Commissioner of Food Supply and Consumer Protection states:-
On the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, 18th September is declared as a public holiday for all ration shops. In the list of public holidays of Tamil Nadu government, the holiday for Vinayagar Chaturthi festival was announced as September 17. The government has issued an order changing this date to September 18. The order has been issued to apply to ration shops as well.
