West Coast Express train from Chennai Railway Station to Mangalore, Karnataka at 1.25 pm yesterday,departed from Chennai railway station and proceeded towards Mangalore via Arakkonam, Jolarpet.The train arrived at Gadpadi railway station at 3.35 and departed for Jollarpet at 3.38.
Smoke was coming from near the wheel of the common box of the train when it reached LC55 gate area near Latheri railway station.Seeing this, the gate keeper immediately informed the Latheri railway station officer.

Accordingly, the train stopped at Latheri railway station yard around 4 o’clock. Immediately all the passengers got out of the train.After that, the railway staff checked and found that there was a brake fault in the carriage.
After that, the railway staff rushed to fix it.After that the train left at 4.17 and headed towards Mangalore. Passengers suffered a lot as the train stopped midway.
