Subsequently, dengue outbreaks were brought under control and reported at low levels through intensive measures by the Department of Public Health.

Accordingly, 512 people were affected by dengue in March, 302 in April and 271 in May. Later, it started to increase slightly with 364 cases in June and 353 cases in July. Similarly, 535 people were found to be infected in the month of August. Dengue cases have increased significantly since the beginning of this month.

According to this, 610 people have been affected by dengue in Tamil Nadu this month. Also, 227 people have been diagnosed with dengue fever in a week from 21st to 27th. In the current year, 4 thousand 454 cases of dengue have been reported till yesterday. So far 3 people have died due to dengue.

Therefore, the People’s Welfare Department has advised the authorities to actively carry out mosquito eradication activities in the districts and engage in mosquito eradication activities in a cyclical manner in order to control dengue.
