A schoolgirl died after drowning in a puddle in kalavai Puttur.
Saravanan, a laborer, hails from Makasa Wazaipandal road area of Ranipet district. His 2nd daughter is Nandini (age 13).She was studying 9th standard in Girls High School.Last evening, Nandini unexpectedly lost her footing when she went to fetch the rope of a cow tied for grazing near kalavai Puthur Kuttai,It seems that he lost his footing and fell into the puddle.
As he did not come home for a long time, his parents went looking for her. At that time, only one sandal of the student was found near the footbridge in Lake Cody. Suspicious, Saravanan went down to the puddle and searched and found that the student was stuck in the mud.They rescued her and took her to kalavai Government Hospital. But she died on the way.
In this regard, Sub-Inspector Surya, Special Sub-Inspector Gandhi and the police went and took the body to the Arcot Government Hospital for post-mortem.
And Sub-Inspector Surya is registering the case and conducting the investigation.
