Alencier Ley Lopez won the best actor award in which he said, “Don’t stir up our emotions by giving the female idol award. I will not be mesmerized by a female idol. Give an award with a sculpture of a strong man,” he said.
The speech was controversial. Kerala Film Women’s Organization condemned her.
When a female journalist asked Alencier Ley López for his opinion on the issue, he was allegedly abusive.
Subsequently, the Kerala Women’s Commission itself came forward and registered a case against Alencier Le Lopez and instructed the Superintendent of Police to file a report on the incident.
