There is a Ganesha and Suriyamman temple in Kottayur near Thiagaduruga. The temple has been renovated and kumbabhishekam was held yesterday.
On this occasion, the day before yesterday, the first period of Yagasala Puja started with Vigneswarar Pooja and Vastu Shanti. Also yesterday morning Gomatha Puja was held and 2nd period Yagasala Puja was held. Following this, the medalam was played from the yagasala, holy water was poured into the gopura kalas of Vinayagar and Suriyamman temples and kumbabhishekam was performed.
A large number of devotees participated in this and had darshan of Sami. All the devotees were given alms. The arrangements for the festival were made by the festival team and the villagers.
